About Dan: He was installed pastor/head of staff of the congregation on June 4, 2017. Previously, he served the congregation as an associate pastor since 1995.
Dan is a graduate of the College of William and Mary [A.B., History, 1981], Union Theological Seminary in Virginia [M.Div., 1986], and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary [D.Min., 1996]. He completed Certificate in Executive Leadership at McCormick Seminary in Chicago in 2018.
Dan’s avocations include bluegrass banjo, craft beer, and golf. Dan and his wife, Lisa, and have two children and four grandchildren.
Prior to being called to First Church, he served as the pastor of a congregation in Strasburg, Virginia and in Sharps, Virginia.
